This map displays over 100 locations of Blue Plaques in and around Leeds. You can search for a specific plaque using the drop down search menu. If you are in Leeds check out your location and you can get a route to your chosen plaque. Clicking on a plaque location marker will bring up the information displayed on the plaque, if available. The plaques are round, normally 18 inches in diameter, and made of cast aluminium.
Leeds Civic Trust set up its Historic Plaques Scheme in 1987 to promote public awareness of the heritage of the city of Leeds. The Trust is a voluntary organisation and the scheme is financed by obtaining sponsorship for each plaque. There are around 150 blue plaques erected by Leeds Civic Trust.
